About me:
My name is Liz, I'm 20 years old and I own a Boxer, a Guinea Pig, 12 cats & 5 fish. I used to own Border Collies all my life, and the breed is my passion. My family decided to get a show Boxer as a change of pace after my last Border Collie had to be heartbreakingly put to sleep in late 2004. That's where I get my user name: BoxerCollie86.
I could barely imagine my life without Border Collies in it, and it's been hard, but I've learned to love the little quirks of the Boxer breed. I'm hoping to purchase a Border Collie again in a few months, but I want to save up a doggy cash stash first so I can lavish the little pup and care for him properly (properly = spoiled rotten!).
I was raised on a farm and I've had just about every kind of poultry you could imagine, and I used to raise and breed American & French Alpine dairy goats for show, milk & meat.
I used to attend Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Studio Art, because I'd like to become a children's author. Next year I hope to transfer to UNCW and continue my studies there. I've already been published in the United States & Europe, but I'm looking for more recognition in a new genre. I'm also a Nature Photographer, and I love and embrace the beauty of nature through my photos.
In the year I've taken off from school, I rediscovered my passion for becoming a Vet Tech, and I hope to start training for certification soon. My entire childhood & young adulthood was spent around animals and I desperately wanted to be a vet... and then I realized I was incredibly squeamish around blood and I couldn't stand needles. >_<
I've since overcome those fears and I'm back on track to reaching my dream.
More importantly than anything is my passion and love for music. I've been a classic rock fan for nearly my entire life, to the point where most people that meet me and all of my friends agree that I was born into the wrong decade. I've even considered taking up positions as a DJ for our local classic rock station, and as an editor for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. Usually unexpected for a 20-year-old.
Among all the bands I love, the one that's my ultimate favorite is Queen. I'm a lifelong fan, and I started collecting their music & memorabilia when I was just 13 years old. I recently was at their first concert in the United States in 23 years, which was held in New Jersey. My best friend and I took a 300+ mile, 8-hour road-trip to get there, just so I could fufill my dream. I also got to meet my Queen friends from all over the country that I had only known online up till then. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I guess that makes me the musical equivalent to a Star Wars nerd. LoL

Sadly, he had to be put down in October of 2004 at 8 years old.
