We have a wonderful 6 mo. old male that was flown from a breader in Mo to CO. We found the puppy in the internet loooking for Cavalier King Charles Spanials. The breader is Lisa Harrison Marsfield, MO phone # 417 859-7094. He came with a 5 year health guarentee. His mother was a champion Cocker and his father was a champion Cavalier. Lucky ,(Happy go Lucky) is exactly that. Lucky favors the Cavalier. He is more patite than a Cocker and weighed 15 lbs at 5 mo. He is mostly white with blond mask and ears and a blond spot on his butt and part of his docked tail. The tip of his tail is white. He also has freckles on his nose and a few on his legs. He has the most affectionate nature and loves everybody and all dogs. He is very bright and playful. Good Luck ! Deb

I am in the process of getting a Cockalier puppy from Kristin with http://www.puppylovefamilypets.com. My experience so far has been very good. She has the most adorable cockaliers. You can also contact her because sometimes not all of the pups are on the website. She's located in PA, but she does ship.

I just bought a Cockalier puppy this past weekend. We bought him from Justpuppies in Laurel MD. I believe they have another one if you are still interested. They do have a website if you would like to google it and get there store information. Hope this helps if you are still searching.

I have a cockalier puppy. She is about to be a year old. Liberty Belle (we call her Belle) is super sweet. She is very dependent. She doesn't like to be alone. I don't just mean she doesn't like to be left alone- I mean she wants to be at your side or in your lap all the time. She looks more like a cavalier in body, but she looks more like a cocker in the face. She is about 20 lbs now. She really likes to cuddle and she plays well with our four year old Beagle (Paige). She barks at us while we eat, but I think she learned that from Paige. She cries at the door when one of us leaves, and she cries when we get home. She is obeident for the most part, but she is kind of greedy so that gets in way of good dog behavior sometimes. (barking while we eat, at my feet while I cook) I use her greed against her when needed... she LOVES to ride in the car, so every time we open the front door she runs to the car. If you open the car door she gets in and won't get out. Sometimes I have to take treats out to the car and lure her out. She can't help herself :) She does need to be brushed every day or she gets matted.

Anyway, I have had a great experience with Belle. We got her from a pet store in the mall. I know its the worst place to go, but she was so cute we had to get her. We weren't even looking for a dog.

Good luck in your search for a cockalier.

I love my cockalier! very healthy! Loves boat riding! Great Dog!
My "Megan" does shed..so, I gave her the vitamin "Lipiderm" and have her on "Innova" holstic dog food. It REALLY cuts the shedding by more than half. My sis-n-law grooms dogs and suggested the vitamin for healthy skin and it works w/ shedding too. Please look into this vitamin and food if that's a problem. Love my Cockalier!

I thought I'd share my experiences with this breed. My husband and I got our first Cockalier nearly 4 years ago from pet store (which is definitely NOT the place to go....but we fell in love)....Bentley has proven to be the best dog! He is loyal, obedient and just an all around nice guy. I decided to go back to school to pursue my Masters, leaving Bentley at home for long hours during the day. He is the type of dog who is a people person, and just wants to be with his Master all the time....so I began to feel horribly guilty about leaving him alone.

We decided it was time to find Bentley a sister, so he wouldn't be so lonely. We found Hazel, our second Cockalier, using Puppyfind.com. She is a wonderful puppy, who our whole family adores. I just realized today, that using puppyfind you can actually search for "Cockalier" puppies. Our breeders name is Karen, and she lives in PA. She currently has two cockalier puppies listed on puppyfind (you must search under "Cocker Spaniel" Click "Location search" and "PA"...her puppies are listed under the names of "Bonnie" and "Clyde." Bentley is currently about 25 lbs (at 4 years old) and sheds once per year (in the spring). I get him shaved down, and after that I can't notice any hair. Hazel is currently 15 lbs (at 7 mo. old) and just recently started shedding her winter coat (in clumps...not individual hairs like a Lab). I had both dogs shaved down, and neither have shed since. I bathe/brush our dogs about once a month, and that seems to do it. Neither mat, and I guess I'm lucky for that!

I also have to say that these dogs really learn to fit your individual lifestyle. Bentley has been through college with me, moving back and forth, and now living in the city with myself and my husband, and he has adjusted wonderfully. I hope this helps anyone considering this breed.

I just posted a bit about my 6 1/2 year old cockalier on an area in reply to a Darcy.
Mine is super intelligent. Personality plus. Barks some at very little kids maybe as needs more exposure to htem. Hair sheds dirt quickly so cleans up easily, does shed hir like a cocker does, has the cavalier ears so not prone to ear infections, healthy to date. Lots of lovely feathers on feeet and legs. I bathe him once a month. Doesn't mind being bathed but doesn't like dryers, though likes towels. Interested in rabbits and birds, not so much squirrels. Very people friendly. Good with other dogs, and mine actually helps timid dogs. Funny, friendly, learns tricks easily. Swims swims swims if he can. Love him - couldn't ask for a better dog.

Did you ever get your Cockalier, and how did it work with this breeder. I recently e-mailed her about a puppy. Do you have any other information on breeders in the PA area. Thanks. You can e-mail me. mairone@yahoo.com
