Alsatian
Short History of the Breed:
Alsatian is the British Term adopted during the world wars. Terms relating to Germany fell out of favor so the British, being resourseful renamed the breed. If you are looking for information on this breed check Schultzhound (German)and German Shepherd (American)which are the same Breed only with different names.
Physical Description and Size: Dogs have erect ears. Almond shaped eyes of a dark color are standard. Coats vary on the dogs from shor, to medium, to long. Colors vary often with black and tan being prominant. Whites Browns and reds are also found. Teeth are large and jaws are strong.
Temperament: Dogs can be feirce or gentle and loving depending on training treatment and environment. Dogs are extremely loyal and protective. Not for the light of heart.
