The AKC refers to them simply as "Bulldog" because the AKC doesn't recognize any other bulldog types for confirmation. And while the AKC is a very well known registry, it is not THE authority on dog breeds.

Live in the moment! Excersise, Disapline and affection. Watch the dog whisperer. Take it to heart and redirect your life in that direction. When people come into your home remind them no touch, no talk, no eye contact. It will change your life if you are really divoted. I also bike with my dogs. Twenty minutes everyday, it takes time to learn but education is the key to any problem.

We have an American Bulldog too - all white with one brown ear - and completely healthy! He's the best dog we have ever had! We have children too - and he's so loving and playful, and we have never had any temper problem. In fact, he's so loving with people that he does not make a good guard dog (despite the description of such a breed), but that's okay too! When anyone comes to the door, he's known to lick you to death - that's all! He never wants his own space, but our space always. He always wants to please, and so smart and funny and energetic!! We were concerned because he is so strong (just born with all that muscle), but he's a big baby that just weighs alot! He doesn't bark at all and is not aggressive or hyper, but just loving and playful. He's very respectful too - and well mannered. He can be stubborn but it's in an amusing way. He's simply a great dog.
