There are several groups-one in Europe that call their associations a form of Native American dogs. They call each other names & talk about the purity, etc. I was going to ask you if you are Din'e-because of your user name. While I'm not Native American-I'm related to Navajo-the Cheyenne in Oklahoma-Blackfoot-Aleuts-Acomas & Zuni. These groups have been fussing about the look & purity-but geography & life style probably dictated what pre-European dogs looked like in different areas-I've pointed out that Europeans brought dogs with them and the dogs bred. One group gets upset & accuses the other group of cheating by using wolves whatever. I point out that they are trying to re-create something that hasn't existed for a while and the peoples of the Americas did extensive trading. One grandfather was Irish & the other one was german-one spoke Cheyenne & the other Sioux-both had scalp shirts and some of the scalps belonged to whites. I'm just trying to get them to play nice & that they are trying to re-create something-
Excuse me for saying this, but they're probablely some of the million or so red-heads or blondies that had a Cherokee princess for an ancestor-Myself-I'm a hound person & on the irish side some of my ancestors were on the Spanish Armada-so I'm probablely a mixture of Viking-African & Spanish. Believe me-I get where you're coming from.
