Fido facts...
What do Great Danes and Andy Warhol have in common? Both are Pennsylvania icons. The breed, a pet of William Penn, is the official state dog; the artist, a native of Pittsburgh, is remembered with a namesake museum in his hometown. Warhol also owned a taxidermy Great Dane named Cecil, reportedly named for possible former owner Cecil B. Demille.
The stuffed dog once stood guard at the entrance to Warhol's Factory studio in New York and appeared in the artist's Pop Art portraits. Cecil is now on display at the Andy Warhol Museum.
