To Austinites, Freddie's Place ahs made itself known as one of the most dog friendly establishments in town. This restaurant headed the fight between dog lovers and city council to pass an ordinance allowing restaurants to choose whether or not they would allow dogs to dine with their owners. Freddie's has a wonderful patio area, complete with a stage for nighttime entertainment, a washer pit with weekly tournaments, a fire pit for chilly nights, a pool table, outdoor bar, christmas lights year round, and giant 100 year old oaks. P. Terry's Burger Stand- 404 S Lamar
A small, drive thru burger place near Zilker Park and Auditorium Shores (2 of Austin's 12 leash free areas), P. Terry's welcomes your dogs to sit with you at the outdoor picnic tables. Since there is no inside seating, you can take your dog with you through the drive through and get a piece of the stash of dog treats the staff keeps behind the counter! If you're there on the right day, the manager may just stick his hand out the window and greet your dogs himself!

What else is there to say? Groovy Dog is a bakery just for dogs! The resident Boston Terrier, Xena, can be seen keeping things under control during business hours. The treats are wide ranging and phenomenal, made fresh in the store all day. You can buy biscuits, smoothies, birthday cakes... just about anything! There are also several stores all over the city that carry a portion of the bakery's goods, just incase the store is not in your neighborhood. Groovy Dog also has a selection of collars, leashes, bowls, clothing, toys, and different gear for dogs of several sizes. It's definitely a store worth checking out!
