Just one of manyexcellent trainers available at the Austin Humane Society. The payment for the classes directly helps fund the Austin Humane Society. The instructors are certified dog trainers but are volunteers through the shelter. They work many hours each week training the shelter's dogs, then extend their great knowledge after hours to anyone who signs up for classes. If a dog is adopted from the Humane Society, the class fee is reduced. They offer puppy kindergarten for early socialization and basic manners for dogs 5 months and up. Classes focus on positive reinforcement, and dips a bit into philosophies of training to help the owners better understand why. The basic manners class runs 8 weeks and costs $95, unless the dog is adopted through the shelter. http://www.austinscpa.com
