Bailey (who might be a Cockachon)
My dog's name: Bailey
My dog's breed(s): The breeder said he is a Cockachon
My dog's birthdate: 9-10-2006
Hometown: Rolling Meadows, IL
How we met: We picked up Bailey at a flea market in Nashville. We had been thinking about getting a dog but I am allergic and thought all the allergy free dogs were a little poofy for my taste. We saw Bailey and thought he was too cute to pass by. The breeder said he was hypoallergenic, wouldn't shed, and should top out at about 15lbs. Perfect.
Nine months later he is 30lbs, shedding like crazy, and well, lets just say he is not exactly allergy free. However, he is extremely loved and is perfect anyway.
We personally don't see any cocker or bichon in him. He looks more like a lab/corgi mix to us, but I'm posting on this site in hopes to get some feedback and inspire other cockachon pages so I can see what other ones look like.
What makes my dog special: Bailey looks like he has the tail of a dog twice his size. I will try to get some more recent pictures of this before we get him trimmed. When it is fanned out it looks huge.
My dog's likes/dislikes: As you will soon find out our dog loves being on the couch with us. He is very affectionate and loves to play. Bailey doesn't like eating his food out of his bowl. We have to dump it on the carpet... we're working on this. However, what he doesn't like the most is being said no to. He puts up the funniest protests that includes rolling around, whining, snorting, and generally making all sorts of indescribable noises which are hilarious.
Bailey seems to be very smart so far. He is a little guarded around new people, but we are working on getting him better socialized. He does like to chew up a lot of things still. He has recently moved on to his blankets which he shows no mercy.
Pictures:

We got Bailey at six weeks. This is probably around eight weeks. See why we had to get him?

A month later everyone swears he is Golden Lab.

First Christmas.

A little spoiled are we?
Notice a recurring theme with the couch?
This is the most recent picture we have. Is this a Cockachon?
Please add you own Cockachon page so we can see some of his crazy breed brethren.

Hey there Bailey! Loved the display of pictures that you've got there! I don't know if you're a Cockachon or not, but you are a cutie for sure! What an adorable pup!
Keep checking back. This mixed breed guide is continuing to grow and I'm hoping to collect a bunch of different mixed breed photos so that people can see the similarities (or not!). Anyhow, welcome! How big is Bailey now--is he anything close to what you expected? If he's a Cockachon, I would expect him to be on the small side. If there's golden lab or any other larger dog, then you might be seeing the size come into play now! |
