I am ABSOLUTELY in love with my beagle. The important thing is to have an abundant amount of land where the beagle can be. We live in the country and let him out every morning. He roams, bays, and enjoys life all day long, but he always comes home for lunch, dinner, nap time, and bed. I swear that my beagle can tell time.

we are thinking about getting a beagle. we are scared about letting him in the yard. we decided to put chicken wire in my gate holes to stop her from leaving.

This is wierd, but my beagle doesn't really make any beagle noises, he actually barks like a normal dog, maybe because he has grown up with the neighbours dos barking he just started learning from them? When I go to the beach and see other beagles, they seem to persistently howl/bark in an irritating tone whilst running, but not my beagle, only when he is barking really excitedly at something does he begin to sound like a beagle?

Boy, that sounds so easy--I have a pug and she's really quiet, except when she's in watchdog mode in the yard. I've tried a ton of things, but am having a difficult time with the barking issue. I'm envious of your situation!

I have had my Beagle for about a month now and I love him!!! Although it is very hard to leave him at home for a couple hours. He will fret and cry but at the sound of my keys in the door (returning) he gets so excited and ready to greet. I have found that leaving on classical music while we are not at home calms him.

I'm your average teeenage kid, But I also have a beagle. My beagle is about 10 years old. I find that these dogs are very smart. For example, Whenever my beagle runs away, he comes back to our home. Another Example I Found by my dog is that He(Well, Barks) along, But I just think he is getting annoyed. Anyways, What I'm trying to is that Beagles are loving pets and are patient to people and They are Extermely Smart.

I admit... Beagle puppies are one of the cutest life-forms around, but that being said: how can you deal with the baying that occurs for the rest of their lives? I can see why hunters would reuire that, but the average joe...

I was going to adopt a beagle puppy, but ended up buying the puppy next to her; a Basenji. In my opinion, they are the smartest (although not the most obedient) breed of dog, and best of all, they are incapable of barking!!!
