Big Dogs Porch is a website dedicated to people who own big dogs. A wealth of info if you're a new comer to the big guys, or a place to share your knowledge if you're an old Pro. A place of camaraderie where people don't think you're insane because you share your home with a dog who you take car shopping just to make sure he'll fit. We understand that Giant breeds aren't like other dogs, that they are a whole different kind of animal. We understand their behavioral, nutritional, medical and training needs and have certified Canine Nutritionists on staff as well as vet techs, and trainers. Plus we have interviews and articles by those in the dog world, anything from tips on RAW feeding to dog sports, to genetic anomalies, to medications big dogs should avoid.

Our forum is active and is PARTICIPATED IN by a knowledgeable staff, who is sincerely interested in the board itself. Our message board is very open minded and you will not be harassed for asking about any hot button issues such as ear cropping, and you don't need to worry about feeling embarrassed to ask about anything, no matter how trivial everyone else tells you it is. We also realize that although the dogs are a huge part of your lives they aren't the only part and have forums dedicated to chit chat, recipes and a weight loss accountability group.

We're very active in Rescue, using our forum and large email network to locate homes for dogs in high risk shelters, and to help transport them safely home. We also participate in fund raisers to donate money towards worthy Rescue Affiliations that actually put the money into the welfare of the dogs.

Our encyclopedia is in the making, but we already have several passages lined up, including REAL breed descriptions, from people who actually own these dogs, and will tell you what you won't find in any breed encyclopedia.

We also have a large gift shop, that does custom orders, and has several hard to find breeds showcased there. Not to mention a graphic artist on staff, so if there is something you want that isn't there, let us know and we can make it! Plus any of the graphic articles found in the store can be customized to match you and your dog!

We know how hard it can be to live with a big dog. We've all scraped slobber off the walls. (Mr Clean Magic Eraser is a gift from the heavens!) And we don't think it's funny to hear someone yell "Get your chin off the counter!" It can be crazy sharing your life with the doggy Giants. But it's totally worth it.
