I use Caldwell Mill Animal Clinic off of Valleydale Road in Hoover. They have several veternarians, and three of them are really great with Shih-Tzu's! They also perform surgeries and ultra sounds on sight and they have vets who specialize in exotics if anyone is interested in that. They also have a WONDERFUL groomer on sight who has several Shih-Tzu's of her own, and she's very comfortable with grooming dogs. -Bogie's Mom

Best boarding/kennels:

Kennelseek.com - Helps you find boarding kennels which are rated by other pet owners in your area.
Best groomers:
- Alex Berg - he cleaned my doggie all over. :)
Best dog supplies:
- I suggest PetSmart for the basic's. Although, if you're like me and enjoy pet boutiques, there are a couple in the outer Birmingham area that are WONDERFUL! Molly and Max is found in Cahaba Heights when you turn left from behind The Summit on highway 280 and they have a lot to offer... They carry really cute clothes, bows, collars, and leashes; gifty things like breed specific stationary; an artist who does Warhol-esque portraits of your dog by request; and specialty dog food and treats (organic, holistic, and sporting specific among some). Another store that is great is Nixie's Boutique off of Galleria Boulevard in Hoover. Nixie's is very similar to Molly and Max, but she specializes in designer and couture (we're talking Juicy!!) wares for dogs and cats and also sells dog carriers, strollers, whatever you're looking for. Molly and Max is inexpensive to moderate, Nixie's is moderate to expensive.
