Border Collie Rescue
"Katie"
Beginning of June 2007, a Border Collie female, approximately seven months old was left with me to care for her for a few weeks. Well, long story short, the owners split up & moved out of the state and LEFT HER WITH ME. I eventually was able to get them to sign her over to me. When they did, I started looking for our state's BC Rescue Organization, and found it was a fairly new group of volunteers...Phoenix Rising BC Rescue of SC took my info & put Katie into their Rescue program & put her pics on their website. I soon got a response of interest in "Katie" and an application filed. After a rigorous application process & home visit, at the last moment, it fell through, as the interested parties' Vet Ref didn't get approved. The adoption was off, so I decided to keep Katie myself. I had noticed she seemed stiff when she first woke up in the AM, so I took her to the vet. To my surprise, she was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. Long story short, Katie needs surgery, expensive surgery, and so now we are looking for HELP financially so that we can get Katie the surgery she needs. She is a beautiful, sweet, young girl, under a year old, and we want her to have a long & healthy, normal life!
