How we met: Adopted from Wetumpka Animal Shelter, 6 wks. old
My dog's breed(s): Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever/something short [?]
What makes my dog special: We had been searching for puppies on the internet for a while due to the recent death of our Golden Retriever Casey, and one night my Dad found two-month-old puppies in Wetumpka. We went the next day, and in the pen next to the 2-month-olds we saw 6 week old puppies that were found on the side of the road alone. There were about 6 or 7 of them. I, about 11 at the time, got in the pen with all of them to see which one fit the best, and it turns out the small yellow one fit with the family. He's four now, and the best!
My dog's likes/dislikes: Likes anything I like, kisses, doesn't like things I don't, etc. Very fond of Italian, and likes licking dishes. Hehe.

Pete, the dog on my profile, has been getting into dogfights lately with a chow/black lab mix! His face was scratched and a bit beaten and last night I heard Pete barking but I thought it was just a raccoon. I found out this morning that he was in a dogfight. The dog bit his ear, wounded his head, and made a gash in Pete's back leg. Pete can't hardly walk and is at the hospital now! I went this morning to see him but his owners, our neighbors about a block away, said he is at the hospital and isn't sure when they're going to get him back! Their 7-year-old son, my brother's friend, said he was bleeding from his head and he couldn't even get out of the car at the vet [who happens to be my next-door-neighbors]!! I'm so scared because I love Pete to death! This is first time I can actually say, meaning every word, that I wish the Chow mix would go away and never come back, or get hurt so he would stop or something! I cried earlier for Pete!
