Eating and crate training
"tell my new owners to smack the top of the crate and say "'quiet'" in a loud, firm voice. The puppies don't like to hear the loud noise of the crate being banged"
This is REALLY bad advice. NEVER punish a dog while he is IN his crate. You do not want to create a negative association with the crate. By doing what this person suggests, you can create a dog who loathes being in his crate and may even wet his crate which would be the exact opposite of what you want if you wish to crate train a dog! The best way to stop a dog from whinning and barking is reward the behavior you DO want, and like the other person said, IGNORE, the behavior you DON't want. So do not go to your dog when he is whinning! If you have a clicker handy, you can use it to mark the moment the dog is quite! Click you clicker when the dog isn't making noise - even if it is just for a brief second - try to catch that brief second. Click your clicker then go over to your dog and toss a cookie or really great treat into the crate and tell your dog how wonderful he is. Then walk away and wait again. As long as your dog is making noise you are to INGORE him. Click your clicker again when he is quite and go over to him and give him another cookie. YOu want him to learn that not making noise brings him to you, making noise keeps you away.

Potty training
Thanks for your advice, I don't want you to misunderstand about the poor pup, I am not abusing him. I am defintely mad but I exegerated to be funny on the page.... Another thing is I strictly take him out to walk only and not for potty, I strictly use the training pad only as not to confuse him. I use crate training, and it only works in the morning, I try to use crate training when I am away for a few hours, but he would pee in the crate, I tried to confine him in the bathroom with the crate open and a trainingg pad near by, he would go in the crate and pee. Marni is actually quite intelligent, I am guessing he is mad when I am away and would go to the crate and pee. I know no one would believe me but I actually think he knows and purposely not urinate in the pad...because for 3 days in a row he would go to the pad by himself...well with some accidents..but he went, and now all of a sudden he doesn't stay in the pad or go near it. With the exception of #2, it's weird. Because it seems that he is a lot more consistent with #2 and would go to the pad...I just don't understand.
Another point I want to bring up is that, I get so many advice, alot of them pretty much the same, consistency, crate training...etc. patience....I just want to find out if anyone has any unordinary tricks...
I notice you suggest having fresh water for the pup at all times, which I totally agreed, but I find out from other puppy training manual that I should limit water intake as to control his schedule for potty. What do you think?
Thanks again.

My boy's potty training
We recommend this method and do searches on the Internet re: puppy training. Generally the most preferred method is using crate training:
Housebreaking
http://www.wikifido.com/page/Housebreaking
"... House breaking or potty training your pup is important since it’ll save you the effort of cleaning up after it. You cannot train it before it is two to three months old, since this is when it develops muscles and control of its bowels... "
Please go to the House training page for the full text.
