Name: Puppy

Breed: Old English Mastiff

Born: Puppy was supposedly born in Tennesee to a family breeder -- he was actually born we don't know where and bred by evil puppy mill breeder Louis Vogel/Vagel and Running Bear Mastiffs. We purchased him online 8 years ago from now defunct mastiff.com when he was 6 weeks (supposedly) old. Our biggest mistake? Not typing in "breeders name + lawsuit". Puppy has many genetic defects including PRA, complete retinal detachment in one eye (blind in that eye) skin allergies, cataracts in his good eye, a heart murmer, thyroid problem, and a cervical disk displacement (probably size and age, not breeding). Most of these problems were discovered between 5 months and 1 year old. No, we did not give the dog we love and cherish back to the evil Louis Vogel for a replacement and will continue to care for his goofy self forever.

About his owners: We are a couple who have been dating for 14 years and are very proud of our "only child". We travel a lot, own our own business and dote on our dog.

Why Puppy: We love the breed, sweetest, cutest, friendliest dog we've ever had and the fact that his size scares the hell out of people is a bonus! Obviously, we like dogs of the giant breed category.

What Puppy likes: Circle dance at dinner time -- he's blind in his left eye so he always circles right (we have to put a stop to the dancing at this point because he's hurting himself). He loves lamb and rice, his mom and dad, cheese and hotdogs and taking medicine because he gets cheese and or hot dogs... He sleeps all day, gets a little sun, eats dinner, plays awhile with crazy monkey/gorrillla toys (all fleece, nothing hard!) and has a good job (head of security).

Recommendations:

• Veterinarians -- LSU School of Veterinary Medicine -- puppy has better health care than we do! He always sees a specialist ie., orthopedics, opthomology, dermatology, internal medicine when he sees his friends there.
