Popular with both the locals and tourists, this area offers specialty stores, galleries, and restaurants. Some of the restaurants allow dogs at the outdoor tables, including the Del Mar Crab House and The Market Restaurant. If you want to do some shopping with your pooch, some stores allow your well-behaved dog inside including the Larimer Mission Gift Shop, Cry Baby Ranch and Z Gallerie. Look for details about the restaurants and stores in our Denver City Guide. The square is located on Larimer Street, between 14th and 15th Streets, and Market and Lawrence Streets.

Dogs on leash are allowed at this Denver mountain park. The park is over 65 acres and offers scenic views including an overlook of Denver and the plains. William "Buffalo Bill" Cody was buried in this park back in 1917. Dogs are not allowed inside the Buffalo Bill Museum. However, you and your pooch can visit the outdoor gravesite of this popular cowboy and frontiersman. You can also take your dog on one of the many hiking trails at the park. To get to the park, take Interstate 70 west to exit 256 (marked as Buffalo Bill Grave). Follow the signs to the park (Buffalo Bills Grave). It will be a winding uphill road.

Leashed dogs are allowed, including on the self-guided walking tour. Dinosaur Ridge is a geographically famous National Natural Landmark, located just 15 minutes west of downtown Denver. The site features historically famous Jurassic dinosaur bones. The bones were discovered in 1877 and over 300 Cretaceous dinosaur footprints have also been found. The self-guided tour is one mile long and features 16 interpretive signs that describe fossil remains and other important features. There is no charge for the self guided walk. Booklets are available for purchase in the Visitor Center. The booklets offer more details of the walking tour. To get there from Interstate 70, take exit 259 (Morrison/Golden exit) and head south (towards Red Rocks Park) on Highway 93/26. As you near Red Rocks Park, there will be a turn off to the left for Highway 26. Follow the signs for Dinosaur Ridge.

Grandview Park Dog Park

This park has a designated off-leash dog park. The 5 acre dog park is fenced. It is located at the west end of Quincy Reservoir, about a third of a mile east of Buckley on Quincy. Dogs must be leashed when outside of the off-leash area.

Barnum Park Off-Leash Area

This park has a designated off-leash area which is located in the northeast area of the park. It borders the 6th Avenue Freeway. Enter from the parking lot on 5th. This off-leash area is part of a pilot program for the city and county of Denver. It is in place to test the feasibility of off-leash areas in Denver parks. Volunteers observe the conditions at the parks on a regular basis and the success and future of the program will be determined at the end of the pilot program.

Berkeley Park Dog Park

Denver's Off Leash Dog Park

This park is Denver's first off leash dog park. It is open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. The park is located directly behind the Denver Animal Control building.

Mia was stolen on July 19th, from the backyard of a home on S. Meade St., in the Harvey Park neighborhood in Denver. If ANYONE has any information, please contact Natalile at 720.333.7313. There is a reward being offered for the safe return of MIA. She is spayed, so there would be no possibility of breeding. She was not wearing a collar, and she is a really friendly!
