i have a question about my new puppy. she is a miniature dachshund and she is not the normal colors. she is blue with black dots or otherwise known as a merle in some other breeds. i was wondering if this means that she is rare or if it means that she is just weird. can you help me?

I own one of these--or he and I are best friends--. He is my Companion Dog. The word companion doesn't do him justice. We watch television together, take walks. He is very vocal. And actually has an inside voice. The breed , according to everything I have read is the oldest breed in north america. Why is it nobody has even heard of them. They would be consdered herding dogs. But, they are everything dogs. Has anyone out there ever heard of them or does anyone have one of these wonderful and beautiful animals. Saturnsmom1@yahoo.com
