12 yr old dog with tumor near spleen??

hi everyone im in much needed advice, i have a 12 yr old retriever x who has just bn to the vets and i have bn told he has a tumor near his spleen, the vet has told me he can operate and remove it, but there are a few things to consider ie blood clotting his age and complications, it may have spread already if cancer?? the vet doesnt no untill he operates if thats the next course i take, i just want whats best 4 my dog, and the rest o the time he has left? i really dont no whats best to do/ my heart says let him live out the reat of his life wivout surgery but my head is saying go with the operation and hope he survives and can continu his life, he is really happy and showing no signs of discomfort or pain but for how much longer?? please help thank you

Hi, if you do a search-using the browser bar at the left of your picture and message. At the top of the box it says, "Search this site" Left click on the words, "Search this site" and enter tumor, retriever, or cancer, and it should bring up discussions about this subject, where you can see other people's opinions and their experiences, besides whatever people say to you now. My hound has been stressed out from cruel neighbors and she didn't do well with a different brand of flea med. She's okay and getting back to being a clown, but she lost weight-got rashes-hot spots-even dehydrated. I was worried a lot. I can only imagine how you feel. I added key words, so the next time you read this, scroll down to the bottom of th page and it'll have threads for this particular health problem.

Public dog water bowls

Often, after going to dog parks, Indy develops a dog cold - goopy eyes, sniffles, and a cough. I've been letting him drink from the public water bowls, but someone suggested that this could be the source of his ailments. Should I avoid water bowls that serve hordes of canines? Are they really just cesspools of dog disease?

Sometimes where you are you can refill the water bowl, if you can you should rinse it out and refill it, it also depends on where you are.
