Often times we pay attention to form over function and not function over form. It's great to see a dog happily perform the function they were developed for or trained for such a therapy and service dogs. Others could include hunting, retrieving, varmint elimination, and herding for instance.
Function over form is much more important to me. It says that the dog has been cared for, especially trained, happy and healthy.

There is so much good that dogs do,as what was listed as well as how they do for pet parents,being a companion.
