Dear God, why are people so cruel
To helpless creatures over who they rule?
We don’t want to fight, we just want to play,
And give you a kiss at the end of your day.
We will fiercely protect you and stand at your side,
Give up our lives to save you and do it with pride.
So why oh why would you hang, shoot and beat us?
We scream out in pain and you just stand there and cuss.
My pain is now gone, I was hung last week,
When my owner lost money , revenge he did seek.
It’s not the way I hoped it would end,
I really just wanted to be your best friend.
