I just received the greatest gift ever! Being a long time dog lover this couldn't be more perfect! My Neices and Nephews bought me a Gift Card to the Dogtravel Company. They're a travel club for dog lovers! For any of you who travel, and want to travel with your dogs this is a must have!!! They have an online store full of travel items for dogs, but they also are a travel agency catering just to dog lovers! They have dog friendly vacation packages all over north america, they have dog friendly train service for their members, and get this, they actually have dog friendly airplanes where you can take your dog in the airplane with you and they can sit in the seat right next to you! They don't put any animals in the cargo hold. They believe that's inhumane! (And it is!)
They have a bunch of other stuff worth checking out too, like a pet guardian program, pet insurance, dog friendly hotes, cars, pet psychics, behaviorists, retreats, dog show travel, and they apparently work with a lot of rescue organizations and help with fundraising, transport and events. There is an annual membership (unless you get it as a gift like I did!!!!) but it's pretty minimal compared to all the benefits I got! I think it's $29 and that includes the pet guardian stuff, discounts, travel, etc.. Their website is http://www.dogtravelcompany.net for anyone who wants to check them out. They've also been written up in Forbes http://www.forbes.com/prnewswire/feeds/prnewswire/2007/11/27/prnewswire200711271450PR_NEWS_USPR_____DC08308.html |
