Ella is gorgeous!
We think so! In all truthfulness, this was taken right after a grooming session! We take her to a place in Suquamish every three months -should be more often. She is bathed in our laundry sink - bought for that purpose! - every couple of weeks (more often if she starts to get smelly!) and we use a shampoo from Trader Joes. Buddy Wash, I think. She has skin allergies like a lot of Airedales and we have found the Buddy Wash to be non-irritating. We don't comb or brush her, but she likes a good rump-rub and ear scritch. If she gets dirty from a beach walk, she gets put in the sink and her feet washed off. She acts like it was a full bath and tries to rub herself dry on the couch and carpet! - Good thing she's cute!
I found the site through an article in the Seattle PI, shortly before I posted Ella on the site. I was home with the flu and had a bunch of time on my hands!

jackson is cute
"To clarify, Jackson's a pretty clean-smelling dog. At least most of the time! And as an Airedale, he doesn't shed so he's a little cleaner around the house." Ella the Airedale sheds when she's over-due for a grooming, but, for the most part, she doesn't get that "doggy smell" like some other breeds. I imagine Jackson is much the same! As for "cleaner around the house" - if I could get Ella to take care of her toys...

What a cutie!
Your little fella looks adorable - is he your first Airedale? I see he likes water - does that include rain? Our Ella seriously hates water - a disadavantage for someone who has to pee outside - rain or shine - in the Pacific Northwest area of the US! And, when bathed, looks as though she's being punished!

Water question...
Does Ella attack water? I knew and airedale that attacked and generally went crazy whenever any water was around (i.e. attack sprinklers, chase water down the drain). It made giving him a bath quite interesting.
