Guests at the English civil-partnership ceremony of Elton John and David Furnish ranged from music superstars (Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne) to sports greats (David Beckham, Boris Becker) to Hollywood types (Michael Caine, Sharon Stone), but the grooms' most important guest was their dog, Arthur.

When the celebration's posh venue, Windsor's Guildhall, informed the couple that pets were forbidden on the premises, they responded by making Arthur "best man," a critical part of the proceedings that could not be banned from attending.

Arthur was groomed for this special occasion by Katie at Centre Stage Dog Grooming salon in Ascot. Katie has been grooming for Elton and David since 2005.

Elton and David own three other American Cocker Spaniels. Marilyn, Arthur's "wife" is a liver and tan female.tan. Max is just over a year old and is a solid black dog. Isobella is the daughter of Arthur and Marilyn.
