Elvis is still a puppy (born May 05) but is already at full size, about 12 lbs. We like this because he travels well, in cars and planes and ferries (you can't bring your dog into the passenger area of a ferry unless he is in a crate).
He is a Havanese, from very good parents. We could probably show him, if we were into that kind of thing (we're not) but he wouldn't win many awards because he has goofy and crooked teeth (likely the reason our family was allowed to buy him as a pet, given that his parents are both champions and part of one of the largest dog families of Havanese champions). We like that he looks goofy when he looks at you.
Which he does alot, this breed is alert and always checking out their owners.owners But- but don't think Elvis is devoted to us, not yet anyway.anyways. We've seen some signs, now that he is a teenager, but not often.
ButThat doessaid, he does love people, especially NEW people he hasn't met. His entire body literally vibrates, and if it's someone he knows and hasn't seen for a while, he yips and cries with excitement while shaking and vibrating. Isn't that the reaction we all want when we run into someone we like whom we haven't seen for a while? ;)
