Fairlie, the Labradoodle

Fairlie is a labrador/poodle mix, what they call a labradoodle. He's meant to have the bone structure and personality of the lab, while retaining the hypoallergenicness of the poodle. His weight tops in at just over 45 pounds. He's multi-generational, meaning that both of his parents were labradoodles.

Wake Up
Wake up, Fairlie!

We've learned a heck of a lot about how to take care of Labradoodles over the last few months. Though their hair doesn't shed, it can get knots in it, so you need to brush him out weekly. And Fairlie doesn't much like the brushing...

Fairlie's name comes from a small town in New Zealand. We had spent the day hiking around the beautiful Mt. Cook and had a delicious meal of Roast of the Day in the town of Fairlie. We both thought, "what a great name for a dog!" Six months later, here he is!

Fairlie comes from a labradoodle breeder in Seattle called Shed Less In Seattle.

These two photos were from Fairlie weighed a slight 15 pounds. Oh, my, how he's grown.

I am looking for a Labradoodle that is low cost or free that needs a great home. I have a son that has allergies and need a hypoallergic dog. I would love to have one of these breeds. I live in New Jersey and can be reached via email roxie26@verizon.net. Thank you.

I am dying for a doodle - have been searching all of the sites I know of, but I won't buy - will rescue or adopt - any ideas out there about how to find one that's not from a breeder, or is it just impossible???? Thanks!

What a cutie Fairlie is... We also have a blonde Labradoodle. Everything said on the page about the doodle's seems to fit perfectly with our dog, except for the "normal" weight range - our male is 80 pounds at 10 months. He is an "F1" Labradoodle - bred from a white Standard Poodle, and a Yellow Lab. He's a sweetie - I would recommend a doodle to anyone!
