Events

The Broward County Parks Department hosts a variety of "pet events" throughout the year, including camping, swimming, and other types of programs to do with your dog! Upcoming events are listed on their site here.

Broward County Parks

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed to visit all EXCEPT the following: Deerfield Island Park, Fern Forest Nature Center, Hillsboro Pineland Natural Area, Hollywood North Beach Park (beachside), Secret Woods Nature Center, Tall Cypress Natural Area, and West Lake Park (north side).

Canine Beach

Summer Hours: 5 pm to 9 pm (During Daylight Savings Time)
Location: From the centerline of Sunrise Boulevard at A1A north 100 yards on the beach.Fees Annual Permit (Expires December 31)
$30 per dog (Fort Lauderdale Residents)
$45 per dog (Non-Residents)
NOTE: Dog Swim at Snyder Park’s East Lake is included in the Annual Canine Beach Permit. (Admission fee into Snyder Park is $1 per person.)
Annual permit must be purchased in person at 1350 West Broward Boulevard (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday). Future renewals can be handled by mail.

The park is a two-acre site with a fenced perimeter to allow your pooch to roam freely off leash. The park also features a dog obstacle course with exercise and play equipment; as well as water fountains, asphalt pathways, benches and picnic shelters.

Directions: Take Royal Palm Blvd. west. Pass Coral Ridge Drive – proceed to 123rd Ave. (just before elementary school). The dog park will be on your right.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (October - March)
8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (April - September)

The City's first Dog Park features separate fenced areas for large dogs and small dogs, as well as parking for 30 vehicles. There are individual stations providing additional exercise and recreation features for dogs.

Snyder also includes the two-acre Bark Park, with separate enclosed areas for small and large dogs to run leash-free, along with drinking fountains (at dog and human levels), benches, picnic tables, agility equipment, leash stations, two hose stations, scooper supply depots and disposal bins. Dogs must have current tags and remain on leash until inside the gates of Bark Park. There is no cost to enter Bark Park but admission is charged for Snyder Park. Annual passes for Bark Park are available. Call 954-828-DOGS (3647). Hours: during the summer the park is open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. During all other seasons, the park is open from 7a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat.-Sun. 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Admission: $2 per adult on weekdays, $2.50 on weekends

Dog Swim at Snyder Park
Dog Swim at Snyder ParkIn addition to Bark Park, swimming for dogs is also available at Snyder Park’s East Lake for an additional fee. Dog Swim is available on Saturdays and Sundays, 10 am to 5 pm, all year, as well as on major holidays.
In addition to the Bark Park entrance fee, Dog Swim fees are as follows:
  • $1 Per Dog
  • Individual Annual Swim Pass (per dog) $30/year
  • Add a Dog Swim Annual Pass to your Bark Park annual pass for $20
