This is a Australian Koolie. His name is Grissly and he lives up to it. He can be a good dog, sometimes and sometimes he tries to hurt my other dog. He tried to bite a person and that's when we had to give him back to the person we got him from as a puppy (in Victoria). She said he would make her a good stud dog.

Tania's family fathered by Spike

Here is Tania's Spike, we called him grizley when he was born, because he look like a little grizley brear.
Fact: Tania had Spike for 19 months, had him sire a litter of pups from her Border Collie x Kelpie X Koolie.
In all that time she sent these photo and many more, and raved over his ability and quickness to learn, (which she will no doubt order me to remove claiming copywrite), even though she sent them to me to advertise Spike as her Koolie Stud.
Fact: Pj her Kelpie doesn't like anyone, Tania's own words when she wrote to me about sending Spike back home.
Fact: Everyone knows we will always take our bloodlines back, this one out of two incidents when we ever had to.
Fact: In 19 months Tania never once mentions she has any problems with Spike.
Fact: After his returned Spike was sent to Graham a shearer contractor to assess his temperament and ability.
Fact: His findings after a month out mustering, Spike has it all, though a bit soft, will do well on a dairy. Seems to be terrified of anyone who smokes and has had he's ear broken, could have been though use of old method to get the dog to know who is boss, you grab the dogs ear and twist, this shows him you mean business, I don't feel the need to use this form of intimidation.
Fact: When Spike arrived home from Tania's he was cowering in the far corner of the back of the car, refused to come out and peed himself.
Fact: When Spike returned from being with Graham he was full of confidence, happy and relaxed and came when he was called.
Fact: We took Grahams advice and rehomed Spike onto a dairy farm, near by to keep an eye on him.
The photos below are of Spike in his new job and new home.
Our concern has always been for the dog, what may or may not have happened while he was owned by Tania, only Tania will ever know, and maybe not even her.
That Spike attempted to bit her father, is Tania's story, but why after 19 months, she says herself that Spike knew her father well.
She has two children, which were never harmed, beautiful photos of a beautiful Koolie.
Not everyone is cut out for a Koolie, even if you believe you are, it's not a crime, but it is shameful to place the total fault of what ever motivated her to return the dog on the breeder, caring, handling, raising and training a pup to adult hood is the responsibility of the owner.
We at Tjukurpa make ourselves available to all our owners if at any time they feel they need support or advise, I guess that's why only two of our Koolies have ever been returned and why we are more, an extended family, staying in regular contact, receiving updates and photos, it's just how we are.

I have to stop here, I have run out of time, but I'll post more.
Tania, just be happy that he has a good home, that he's not aggressive and move on, Spike did and so did we.
