My dog's name: Dr. Indy Anna Jones (named by a Star Wars geek after George Lucas' dog, Indiana).Indy - 4/06

Hometown: N. Ft. Myers, FL

How we met: In October of 2005, an approximately 8-10 week old Indy was rescued by the wife of one of our co-workers (Sue). A young woman was outside of a chain pet store with her, trying to give her away. The young woman told Sue that Indy (not her name at the time) had been given to her by a now ex-boyfriend and that due to an impending out of state move, she was going to take her to the shelter if she didn't find a home for her while at the pet store. A semi-professional dog rescuer, Sue snatched her up right then and there. However, she had 4 other dogs at home. So when her husband found out we were looking for an Aussie, he offered her up to us. Without a doubt this has been his loss and our gain!

What makes my dog special: Given the fact that we didn't really pick her out, she is the perfect dog for us. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, and just wants to love everybody. In fact, she can't understand why some people/animals don't want to be loved by her (i.e. licked, jumped on, barked at). She has the highest self-esteem of anybody, canine or human, that I've ever met. Not to mention that she's smarter than her human parents combined.

My dog's likes/dislikes: Likes: chasing the cats, licking Mom and Dad's faces, the dog park, the neighbor dogs, the neighbor kids, people in general, tennis balls (especially those that smell/taste like other dogs), frisbee, pig ears, running around the house for no apparent reason, watching/barking at "Meekat Manor" and "The Dog Whisperer", shoes, toilet paper, destroying stuffed animals, ice cubes, stuffed Kong toys, cat food, candy bar wrappers, life itself.
Dislikes: Sitting still for pictures (she's about to lick my face in the above picture), being told "No!", going to her room, being ignored.

One last thing: Add tags to the bottom of the page with your dog's breed and hometown.
