We got a stray from the pound which we believe is a Beagle / Italian Greyhound mix. She is over 1 year old we believe and is full grown at 13 pounds. She looks a lot like the brown and white Greagle posted by someone else here. Our girl has a mini beagle face and tail while the body is all Italian Greyhound. Does not bark alot. Nice disposition. Boy can she run like the wind so we called her 'Turbo'. I will try and post some pics.

Let's not be too quick to call this thing a Mutt. I think that this is truly a designer breed - JUST LOOK AT THE BUILD! Where can I get one! i think that most of the "purebred" animals out there today have some cross somewhere in the bloodline. It's soooo easy to fraud a pedigree that breeders have been doing it for years to get the traits they want - over-time of course many beagles have some jack russell in them to get their size down as this breeder states an 11" Beagle??? Beagles are 13" or 15" but I'm sure through selective breeding you get a miniature class. I'm excited about this breed as I'm an active rabbit hunter with four beagles and if you can get sight and sent recognition, you may have created the superhound - BRAVO!

"Because of the intuitive nature of hounds, the Italian Greagles are hunters. Dominate traits have been exmplified from both the breeds and the result is a superior performance in relation to sight and scent recognition. Italian Greagles are full of energy and their muscular build make them unsurpassed in the field."
they are "unsurpassed in the field" -- what sort of game are we talking about?

I hope our liter of Greagles turn out as cute as these! Our Sire and Dame are exactly the same colors and the puppies have also come out almost identical to these!

The problem with AKC they care about money and not the animals of the pet owners. By creating designer breeds, the AKC loses money. These greagles will never be regestered, and no one will ever get a registration fee and no stud fees will ever be charged to breed a greagle. But many families will enjoy the spirit and attitude of the shared traites of these beautiful animals. I'm sure there will be someone to exploit these greagles, just like breeders of pure breds and the AKC exploit their recognized breeds. The greagles are excellent pets, that cost the AKC money. Sure they like to discredit the breeds. Of the small litter of three pups, I kept one and two were given away to good homes for FREE!. Yes FREE. I prefer to make chilred happy not the AKC or some breeder who lost a sale.

Just letting you all know that I deleted some comments from the page in the interest of maintaining a welcoming environment for all dog lovers. However, I do know that there are many different viewpoints flying around about a ton of different dog topics... So, I do welcome all thoughtful, respectful opinions on the subject of mixed breeds...but I'm thinking the "Designer Dog Controversy" page is the right venue for this...Thanks!

What's wrong with the left eye on the second puppy? It that an injury? Or is it genetic? Or is it congenital?
