Everything about the Japanese Spitz strongly suggests that it is simply a small version of the Samoyed. Creation of the breed commenced in the late 1800s. This breed can live as a house dog as ong as it gets a moderate daily walk and regular chances to run freely. It can also live as an outdoor dog as long as it has plenty of shelter and company. It needs to be groomed regulary to prevent matting of its thick coat.
