i rescued a 2 yr. old yellow lab that i thought was part chow from a black spot on tongue but found out many labs have it. just pigment. i know what you mean about being a handful. mine is an angel until he sees another dog, snake, or sand turtle. then he dragges me wherever he chooses. or he did. i have decided that the only hope for marley is to have an attitude of command with mostly love and praise thrown in for good measure. i carry citronella spray to ward off other dogs. it is harmless, they just don't like the smell. no pepper or mace or anything damaging, it just repels them for a moment while ii take control. only sprayed him twice when his overly playful jumping became unacceptable, or his bolting instinct comes, which happens with many rescue dogs.it's as if i have a new obedient dog and it's not fear, just respect that at 101 lbs. to his 90, I AM THE BOSS!
