Artificial sweetner in gum can kill dogs-so I'd ask a vet <justanswer.com/veterinary> is an excellent source that I use. I'd ask if you could mix in some fiber like citricel-no artificial sweetners- or a tad of mineral oil-If you don't like the answer or approve it-they don't charge you. I took my hounds in on seperate days-and got conflicting advice on when the booster shot had to be given. I got on this site and they explained the conflict. I wanted to and did approve the answer-and I authorized a payment of higher than the base of $9. They saved me money, my hounds physical stress and ensured their health. Be sure to give them the weight of your dog-- Do you walk your dog 2x a day? -that will help this problem and strengthen the back and reduce other physical problems. good luck
