Hello! I own Max who is one of the other poochons on this website. He was born a little before your baby. Max was difficult to potty train. Luckily, he has two big sisters (poodles) that he reall admires who helped to train him; however, when I was working with him on my own, it was really hard. Max would have three good days and then potty on the floor out of no where. I have two poodles aside from Max. The two poodles basically needed no training, so I was afraid Max was abnormal or something, but I learned that it is very common for potty training to take a while. Anyway, my suggestion is mainly keep an eye on him. You can't correct the behavior if you don't see him do it. It's important to catch him in the act, correct him, and bring him outside (or where ever you want him to go). If you can't watch him, fence off the space he can inhabit. Also, when I took Max outside to go, I would praise him like there was no tomorrow. After he would go potty, he would get so excited for himself because I made a big deal out of it. Even when he used his wee wee pads as a pup, I made a huge fuss. Bichons and poodles LOVE to know they did something right. They really are the overachievers of the dog world. Eventually your baby will get the hang of it. Just be consistent. Have a routine with your cutie. That will help a lot. Glad to know someone else loves their poochon. Good luck, and hang in there. It's worth it!
