I am interested in adopting a maltipoo in about 3 months. I am doing preliminary research and can't seem to find any breeders in CT or in surrounding states. Does anyone have any information about breeders in New England? How can I tell if a breeder that is willing to ship to CT is actually a reputable breeder (besides the obvious--offering vet checks, health guarantees, and pedigrees?) Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Does anyone know how to stop a maltipoo from digging? He is ruining the carpets in our home. But, he does this when no one is around so it's hard for us to train him to stop. I want to get rid of him but my husband's attached to it. Any advice would be great.

To Maltipoo owners:
We purchased Maggie (maltepoo) from a breeder in August 2006. She is a GREAT dog! Our family could not be happier with how wonderful a pet/addition she is to our household. She is very sweet, great disposition, and very active. She was quite easy to train. We love her. I was writing to ask a question. I take her to the dog park quite regularly and we also take her on good walks every day. She is quite active. The past week, we have noticed that she tends to favor her left leg--limps or doesn't walk on it for a few seconds. It looks as though something might be wrong. Then after a few seconds, she walks fine and seems OK. This morning she ran a great deal at the dog park without any apparent issues. Later today, she seems to be favoring that leg--limping. A friend, who has a maltepoo as well, said that this breed (maybe the maltese) typically has problems with hip and knee--genetic issues. Can you enlighten us about the breed from your perspective? Have you noticed this at all or have any recommendations. Upon examination of her paw and leg, she seems fine and healthy. By the way, we are going to take her to her vet tomorrow for a checkup and will address it with her. Thought you might have some insights. Thanks! Bob Ryshke Las Vegas, NV
