Moosonee Puppy Rescue Dog
My dog's name: Huck
Hometown: Bracebridge Muskoka, Ontario, Canada
How we met: My husband and I operate Moosonee Puppy Rescue and Huck came to us from Attawapiskat Ontario. We found a good home for him and then it was discovered he had a heart murmur and as a result a short life expectancy. The adoptive family felt they couldn't go through loving and losing him so we took him back. We ket Huck ourselves as we didn't want to put another family through the pain of losing this boy.
What makes my dog special: Huck has no idea he has a heart problem and we hope to keep it that way. He is just nine months old and even though we didn't place him because of his limited life span (12 - 18 months) we now don't know what we would do without him. Even though we deal with over one hundred dogs a year through our rescue organization nothing can ever prepare you to lose one. Huck is innocent and delightful and we love him very much.
My dog's likes/dislikes:Huck doesn't like his paws to be touched. He screams at that and other odd happenings. We know he is a sissy boy but that just adds to his charm.
One last thing: Add tags to the bottom of the page with your dog's breed and hometown.

What a touching story... I'm so sorry to hear about Huck's heart condition. I can tell by the great photo that he is a warm, friendly dog who has a lot to give. It must be extremely hard to know that Huck will only have a short time, yet love him so much. Is there anything that can be done to fix Huck's heart? I think it's a wonderful gift to this dog to receive so much love, whatever happens... And I hope, I hope, I hope for you, on this Thanksgiving Day, that maybe Huck will do better than expected and that he has much time left to share his life with you... Keep checking in and letting us know how he is doing!
