A sweet couple noticed this little pup trying to cross the busy street. They rescued the dog and then listed her on a local site for free. We picked her up that very night. As soon as we met her we all fell in love with her. She was scared but as soon as we got her home, she was part of the family and doing puppy things like chewing. The first thing we noticed was the size of her belly and malnutrition. We instantly started treating her for worms and feeding her a homeade dinner of ground turkey, cooked rice, and veggies. We bathed her and had a friend who is becoming a vet look at her. She weighed 6 lbs and guessed her age to be about 2.5 months. Only a few days later she has put on a couple pounds and eatting good hard dog food as well as her rice meals twice a day. We have decided without much thought not to crop or dock her ears and tail. We love her just the way she is. We took her to the park yesterday and took the leash off her and she stayed right with us chasing the boys around. She likes to play with her toys and chase our other dog around. She does NOT like baths but we figure it was probably her very first. We pretty much agree that because of the dogs behavior in a car near the front window, that she was probably thrown out a window when she was abondoned. We don't know if she is pure breed or not but we don't care. She goes to the vet in one week for shots and a check up and hopefully we will know more then. As of May 7, 2006 we have come to conclusion that maybe our pup is mixed with german shep. Because of the v shape over her eyes. Although very similar to the dobey rotti mix, almost every pic I have seen the rottie dobey mix is missing the v shape over the eyes and has the two rusty colored spots in place of the v. I must add this is not a tell tale signiture of either dog but will say the majority of colored sheps have this v spot and a majority of rotties have these two rusty spots.
