I just want to make certain things clear as some people coming to this blogs may be mislead by certain posts. I have had quite different dogs through my life, Labrador, Jack Russell Terrier, French Poodle, Rottweiler & a German Shepherd and thus far my NAID is the best one I ever had. Lets make something clear here any dog that you may end up buying will require some sort of training and each breed will have traits that identify them. NAIDS are related to Malamute, Husky and German Shepherd as these are the main breeds used to create them; as a result, you can expect their personalities to be similar to the aforementioned breeds. Huskies and must dogs bred for sledding will naturally attempt to dig and pull as they would do in their Artic habitats but as with all behaviors these can be deterred. I will not buy for a moment, as a both dog owner and trainer, that there is such thing as a breed that will require NO training. German Shepherds are great dogs but if you don't train and exercise them properly they will show behavioral problems that can make life with then nearly impossible. I don't have an extensive yard and my NAID has been conditioned to live in a more confined space, he is not shy as I socialized him at an early age as any dog should be socialized to prevent behavioral problems such as shyness or aggression. I just have one thing to add to anyone wanting to get any dog. First visit the breeder and interact with the breed, its just common sense, and then once you decide to purchase your dog invest some time and money in training. Nowadays there are plenty of options to train your puppy at very affordable prices in every city in the U.S.
Again I have owned and trained a hefty number of dogs through my career and I fell in love with the NAID from the first visit that I payed to the breeder, they are loyal, very intelligent and just a joy to have around. I hope this posting can be of any help

I personally thought it was my worst pet purchase. I spent over a grand on the dog. I already own three dogs, and this dog is by far the most timid and unresponsive. In addition, the dog isn't very loyal and always tries to avoid me when I'm calling its name or getting its attention. I really hate to say it, but i think i made a big mistake buying this dog, even as a dog lover its hard for me to find any good traits in this dog.

Takoda was surrendered to me at the age of five by her dad that loved her very much, but I don't think he anticipated the effort in owning a NAID. His back yard was extensively dug up, and she was very shy and skittish. That was almost six months ago, and she's a different dog. She's a happy, well adjusted housedog(with unlimited outside access-tied up, cuz you'll never catch her!), with a family of two teens, two cats, and a schauzer cross she enjoys chewing on-her best friend. We go to the off leash dog park 3-4 times a week for an hour of running and playing with friends, but never want to leave when it's time to go- we're still working out some kinks. The only other complaint is that she's a horrible counter surfer-nothing is safe!! She's been a great addition to our family, but I must stress- we have extensive dog experience, and consider her a challenging breed. I DO NOT recommend this breed with families with small children (under 5), and NO SMALL house pets(under 15 lbs)!!! NAID's have a streak of instinct in them they cannot ignore, and should not be faulted for it. Do not put them into a situation that can only end badly, because you want a pretty dog that looks like a wolf.

I rescued Rosa when she was 5 months old. She was found next to a dumpster. She is now 1 1/2 years old. I've had 3 other dogs and she was by far the most challenging but has become the most wonderful dog. Love and training is all it takes. I used a shock collar on her twice and that's all it took. She has become the most lovable, sweet dog. Not a mean bone in that body. She now knows who is boss, who loves her, who feeds her and now wants to please me. She has sooooo much personality and you should see this dog jump! Wow. Her back feet hit the top of my 6 foot fence. It's incredible and she can sniff out anything. We walk in the park every night and she has incredible senses - all of them. She makes me laugh every day. She has soooo much spunk and has brought so much happiness back into my life. She is so incredibly beautiful too. I love her sooooooooo much!
