Pooping and Peeing
New Puppy Experiences - Dogs & Dog Rescue
Sorry, we had to add this gross bit but actually it's really important!

Puppies can be cute and lovable, but the one thing we all hate is their pee on the floor and their poop in weird places! It's very healthy for puppies to pee and poop often, in fact it's very healthy! The cleaning bit for us human just annoys us... But, instead of holding your nose and giving annoyed tongue clicks, look at the poop. (Yes, it may be gross!) Is there worms? Unknown smells? Is it a different color? Small things like these most people do not pick up. Consult your nearest trusted vet if something doesn't seem right.

Crying and Whining
New Puppy Experiences - Dogs & Dog Rescue
During the day when your working at the office or at school learning, your pup is sleeping and taking naps! Once you arrive, it's bed-time for you and play-time for your pup!

It can be quite annoying but, you weren't there during the day to entertain him. So, all the poor pup could do was sleep... phew!

If you want to still get your beauty sleep, give your pup a few chew toys, a hoof or a ball to entertain himself during the night. If your pup wakes you up once or twice, that's fine. But, if it's constant, ask your trusted vet for toys.

When I first got a dog, I wasn't ready. I thought I was, but as it turns out, I just wasn't. I read all the books and checked out all the dogs and when I brought the new pup home. I just panicked! I'd never had a dog inside the house before and where I live, it's got to be an indoor dog. So everything about it bothered me...the new smells, the shedding, everything! Needless to say, I only had the pup for 6 days and because I still had the pup's best interest at heart, I gave the pup to a friend of mine, who really loved the dog. It was an expensive mistake--cost about $1000 for the dog, the shots and all the supplies, but at least I knew the dog had a good home and her life wouldn't be ruined because of me!

Of course, 6 months later, I still found myself obsessing about dogs and I really thought about it and spent a lot more time with my former "step dog." Then, I took the plunge! Now, three years later, it's a match made in heaven! I love my dog & can't imagine life without her. I've had to make some compromises around the house, but it's all worked out and now I have a great place for my dog (with the other dog) to stay when we are on a trip.

I guess the moral of the story, is that you really have to go in with your eyes wide open, because it's a big responsibility. If there's a way you can dog sit a friends dog or have one on your home first, do so! Experience is the best way to learn!!!

You should spay and neauter your puppy or dog right away!! If you let your female dog have puppies you will have a lot of responsibility. The puppies have to go to loving homes. You should neauter your male dog as well. If you don't it can sometimes lead to cancer. Many people don't do this!! They want to have puppies around the house and then they can't get rid of them so they have to send them to the Animal Shelter. Most likely they will be euthanized. Spay and neuter your pets right away.

People should seriously think before getting a puppy. Puppies are cute, but require lots of time, attention, and money!!! If you buy an adult dog it is most likely trained, is spayed or neautered, and house broken!! Either way you can have a companion for life!!
