My dog's name: Rex

My dog's breed(s): unknown hoping for help identifying


Hometown: Alexander

How we met: Saline County Humane Society. I wanted an easy going friend and walked in the SCHS. Of all the dogs yappin and carrying on, there sat Ol Rex. He sat back there with "those eyes" and was calm unlike most of the other dogs. It was like he was casually sayin "sup". He was already a bit old and I knew he was perfect by the way he sat there nonchalantly waiting...knowing I'd pick him. I got him home and it appears he has been mistreated in the past, probably due to his size. But he is just loyal and friendly as they come. He is blind in one eye with a scar over that same eye, so that also tells me of his past. How anyone could have mistreated this wonderful dog is beyond me. I think I've pulled him out of his "gunshyness" quite a bit showing him Im his friend on not his mean ol master. When I was deployed to Iraq, my parents watched him for me and said it was a year long sad for him. Ooooh, but when I got home he was running around and acting like a puppy again. He's also one of those that if you start petting him, dont stop or he'll remind you of what you are no longer doing lol. Whether is the nose nudge or the fact of him deciding he's a 100lbs lapdog.


My dog's likes/dislikes:
Rex likes his own couch in the house, absolutely loves attention, chest rubs, back scratches, and likes kids.
Rex Dislikes other Alpha males, other animals watching him eat, not having your full undivided attention, and thunderstorms

Im unsure of his breeds because I got him at the Saline County Humane Society. Im believing him to be a Lab/Pit mix. He has an easy going temperment. large muscular build, block style head, and a rust red in color. I have pictures of him on my laptop so I could have pictures of him while I was in Iraq. I'll get them up so others can assist me in identifying him.
