My dog's name: Pata (Nicknames: Stinx, Pooda Bear, Bear Face)

Pata and his frog friendHow we met: He was gifted to me by an ex-boyfriend.

What makes my dog special: He is so independent and self-assured. And he somehow manages to befriend the turtles and frogs that he finds in our backyard. He's such a sweet, gentle boy.

My dog's likes/dislikes: PATA lives to eat and to run free. He doesn't like walking on a leash.

So I understand all the nicknames (and I can make educated guesses about the origin of "Stinkx"), but where did the name PATA come from? Does it stand for something?
