I've understood that Pugs are very intelligent dogs!
Pugs are cute and the type of dog that I would most likely own in the future.
Unfortunately some Pugs do not live for too long...

Unfortunately some Pugs do not live for too long..." most pugs do live for a long time, unfortunatly some do not because of breathing problems. Some pugs are born with a disease called digenitive monopathy this is a genetic disease that causes them to not be able to use their back legs and after a little while connot pee any longer if your pug inherits this disease it is best to put them down so they don't suffer.

Swollen follicle-like skin issue

About two days ago, I noticed under my pug Zoey's chin, a small swollen, sac-like thing. I don't really know how to describe it except that it is the same color as the hair on her chin (gray) and it is small and puffy, almost as if a hair has swelled up. I thought it wasn't even attached at first, but it is firm and apparently something from her skin. She's not scratching at it, but it does seem to annoy her when I touch it.
Two days later now and there is a second one on the top of her head. This time fawn colored, matching the area where the fur is. It is slightly longer than the fur and probably like the size of a grain of rice. Firm, odd looking, because it really doesn't look as if it's detached.
Anybody have a clue as to what this might be or what to do about it?

Hi, one of my friends has a pug with the same thing.. she took it to her vet and they told her that it was a form of cists and for her to not be worried because all pugs get them at some time.. I dont know how true this is but her pug has like 7 of them all over her and she doesnt seem to be in pain from them so it may be true. hope this helped.

What should I do if my Pug catches a cold? Should I take him to the doctor, or treat him my seft.?

Thanks for adding the great pix and info on aging! Very helpful! My pug is still a young one, so it's great to know what to expect..also, I didn't know that their masks changed from black to gray...I thought it was just a different look of pug.
