On the about turn you should initially make the turn slowly in order to give the dog time to go around you and enable it to keep close. Make eye contact and urge the dog round. As soon as the turn has been made, you should quicken your pace and encourage the dog to move forward. When the dog understands the action the turn can be made much more quickly and you can stop bending down on the turn.
