Saint BernardShort History of the Breed

The Saint Bernard originated from Swiss monks around the 12th century. Later, they were cross bred with a Newfoundland, which resulted in the long haired breed that we commonly recognize today. Other names include the Alpine Mastiff, the Mountain Dog and the Barry Dog.
