The Short History of the Breed is intriguing for me.
I have a schipperke and have doubled the breed name comes from "Little Skpper." My schip hates to get wet. When he walks by a river or on seashore, he tries keeping a distance from the water's edge as much as possible. Most of schipperkes I know hate to get wet either. It's natural I cannot believe the remark telling the schipperke worked as the guard of barges. The remark the name comes from “Little Shepherd” sounds true much. It shapes like a shepherd - if it has a tail. But the character… No herding disposition. I have some chances to see a half dozen to more than a dozen of schipperkes at a time. The only action they are in harmony is to bark. I would like to get more information about the origin of the schipperke. Would you tell me the source of the information?
