Is Sinny your pup or a rescue dog that you adopted out? Either way, someone has a smart, loveable, "little bit crazy", but kinda sensitive dog that will bring years of joy with hybred vigor. If I were to be rough in his training I would ruin him I have a male that looks just like Sinny, call him JJ. Only had him about three weeks, but he is one of the quickest pups I ever started and I am damn near 60 years old. I have owned one great (once in a lifetime dog, Lab/Iresh Setter, looked like a black setter and my best friend for 16 years) and several very excelent, well trained nice guys that read my mind and were a pure joy, but this one feels great so far. I don't like pure breds, and this mix of Sheltie/Rat Terrier seems like the perfect mix. I was leery about the Rat Terrior part, but the Sheltie disposition seems dominant, with the smarts of a Rat and a little of the feisty. House trained as well as or better than most, two pees, one poop, and all over for more than two weeks, only had him about three, so basicly house trained in a week. I monitored his water intake at night and he has had no accidents at night at all. I keep him in a kennel when not on my lap or playing with him and he is the second best at that I ever had. My old deaf Austrailin Shepherd peed once in front of the door, I rubbed his nose and put him out and he never did it again in twelve years, this one had three accinents, total and I trust him already, he gets it. Pretty magnificent for a puppy. He has a long way to go, but he wants to please and I think training him will be a joy. I have owned pure Chocolate Labs that I paid a fortune for, and while great in the feild when I used to hunt, it was like living with a slightly retarded, yet happy and loving dog the rest of the time. That's why after his hips and eyes gave out after only eight years, I got a cow dog and trained him to hunt. He was a great hunter and a nice guy afterwards. Out of words. fredt

I cannot believe what I am seeing. I have a male sheltie (father) rat terrier (mother) mix. He is an identical twin to your dog in every respect. Unbelievable! Outstandingly intelligent animal. I swear he understands the human language. Watches TV and will react to any four legged creature he sees on the tube. Really likes to run hard and fetch racquet balls. You have got a real gem.

i recently bought the greatest little puppy from a man who had 'jack russel- sheltie' puppies. however, the more i think about it, i dont think my puppy is a jack russel at all - he looks like a rat terrier with the colorings of a sheltie and he looks alot like the picture of your dog as a puppy except with longer legs - i need your opinion - do you think hes a sheltie rat terrier mix? i have a picture available - let me know and i can send it to you
