Born (Date/Location): Austin, TX; spring of 2001



About the owners: TK's mom adopted him in the summer of 2003 after he spent the first 2 years of his life in rescue. She's a nurse who volunteered for over a year training and socializing dogs at a local shelter. TK's dad is undergoing training now and will be an airline pilot within the year. Both mom and dad (and TK and his sister) are big fans of the Texas Longhorns- TK even got his own jersey to wear for the 2006 national championship game!


What makes your dog special:
TK acts a lot like a cat sometimes. He can be a finnicky eater, he likes to go into our dark bedroom and crash on the bed ALL DAY (and all night), and he's pretty particular to who his human buddies will be.

He's very smart and likes to learn new things. It's fun to get him motivated for something because he will run through his entire repertoire in attempt to "do the right thing" to get the reward he's after. He's quite eager to please and will comply with just about anything you ask of him.

Along with his stellar personality, TK is a bit of a ham in front of the camera. His "smiling" picture above won Best Smile in Dogster.com's World's Coolest Dog and Cat Show, out of over 2200 entries! Also, the river picture below was just chosen to appear in the credits of "Firehouse Dog", a movie coming out in 2007! He's a mini celebrity!

Likes/dislikes:

• Likes: sunbathing (really, he'll lay in the sun for hours in the morning and evening!), baths, sleeping, SWIMMING, retrieving while swimming, being fed raw meat for dinner (we're thinking about making the switch and he LOVES it)
  

• Dislikes: baths outside, children (we think more a problem of lack of socialization- they freak him out), allergies- he has to take shots and eat very particular foods and treats (no more treats from the PetsMart counter!)
