  • Petfinder.com: This website has a database full of opportunities and lets you search for local shelters by city and state so you can contact them directly.

  • Pets 911: Lists local animal welfare organizations within your ZIP code.


  • www.worldanimal.net: Boasting over 17,000 listings and more than 10,000 links to websites, this comprehensive database tracks down animal welfare agencies throughout the nation and worldwide.

  • Adoptapet.com: Provides a thorough directory of animal shelters throughout the United States.

  • www.pointerrescue.org: A national group focusing on rescuing and rehoming pointers (english). We need foster homes all over the U.S.
  • www.cockerspanielrescue.com We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization located in VA/MD/DC area. Our goal is to find homeless cockers and cocker mixes loving homes. Please visit our site to look at our pups or to become a volunteer!

  • www.ratbonerescues.com We rescue Rat Terriers all over the country. A great group of dedicated volunteers who do everything from fostering dogs to coordinating transports. Help is needed in all fifty states. It is a wonderful feeling to read the stories of the dogs that are now in happy homes.

Desert Hills Heelers K9 Rescue is a NON-PROFIT, no kill Corporation. Our Mission is to provide a second chance for Australian Cattle Dogs/Heelers find loving forever homes. We take the homeless/abandoned/unwanted/ cruelty cases. We work with the Humane Societies and individual shelters taking those to be euthanized. We do not have a shelter, we are Foster Home run. Our Foster Homes provide a safe and happy place for our dogs until they are adopted. Our dogs have big hearts and our main mission is their forever happiness, in a home where they will be loved and taken care of for the rest of their life. Phoenix/Tucson/Flagstaff
