Willow my sweet baby girl

We found Willow the Ancrum SPCA in April 2003. She was a victim of abuse and neglect, heartworm positive, and a pretty sad sight. Hubby saw her and went on a nostalgia trip, and daughter was smitten after a few doggie kisses. I was skeptical, but Willow slowly wore me down.

Her first night home, she climbed into bed with us. We giggled about it, and soon learned that she expected a certain standard of living, lol. She had been quite spoiled by a previous owner and was sure we would spoil her as well.

She has a few habits that make us laugh and others that puzzle us. She eats toys, literally, especially stuffed ones that squeak. Apparently pizza was something she snacked on a bit (at least pepperoni or cheese), and chicken, because she knows those words quite well. She loves children, and we believe she would have made an incredible mother.

She's my walking buddy, sweet baby girl, and snuggle buddy. I can't imagine life without her.

Was she owned by more than one previous owner? On the one hand she sounds like she was owned by a real negligent, irresponsible butthole and then it sounds like she was someone's princess. I recently adopted a babydoll who I believe was well loved she's got her bad habits, but I am so willing to work of them. I love her! Just something about boxers make them real easy to love. Congrats I am glad she found a loving home who loved her enough to care for her medically as that can get expensive! Lucky dog, I wish there were more more people out there like this. Best to You & yours.

What a great story! It is so great to hear about families that are able to open their heart and their home to a dog in need--you just get so much in return! Dogs amaze me with their capacity to love and bond with the right people.

She looks like a beauty...I see boxer in her? Got any closeup pix?
