Yata hae Rossco
Birthday: September 13th 2007
Siblings: Bean (9 yrs old), Chupetto (3 yrs old), Mr. Grizzums (2 yrs old)
Likes: Playing outside, barking, toys, mommy, daddy, siblings, sleeping, eating, and learning
Talents: Sitting, laying down, sneaking, shaking, "sit" in sign language, come, catch, drop, fetch and following
Other: Rossco travels to work with his mom, he is getting socialized with other people and is working on playing with other dogs. He is really attached and protective to his mom.
Update 3/30/08: Rossco is getting so big!!! He is over 55 pounds! The breed typically only gets to be 40 to 50 pounds. I don't know why he is such a big Coolie. It is starting to get warmer out in Minnesota and Rossco loves the rocks and the water! Lake Superior is his favorite place to hang out. There is alway another dog there to play with and he is a huge climber! He runs along the beach and climbs over all the rocks! He even tried swimming today! He is really good at listening, I don't have to leash him! He is potty trained now but still gets nervous when people come to the door and he dribbles on the floor. He is a very receptive dog. If I am having a bad day, Rossco notices and is right by my side! The cats are starting to get used to him now and the youngest even plays with him! He is starting to love balls or all sorts. He aims to please and a joy to have around!
Update 5/18/08: Rossco has now shown his herding ability! It was so neat! He got completely focused and started standing really still. (A miracle in it's self. LOL) He loves to swim and fetch! I still don't need to leash him because he doesn't get to far away from me. He listens (98% of the time) and loves to be outside exploring.

Hello, I'm researching the Coolie breed (if it is an actual breed) and trying to find out some information on the breed, because I'm looking for a dog breed that doesn't have millions of health problems. And can you tell me why some are called Coolies that have a 5+ generation, but then some are also called a Coolie when they are a cross? You are not a breeder, but can you tell me how your Coolie gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, adults, or other animals? Are they easy or hard to train? Are they normally hard headed or soft? Are they intense or clowns? I keep asking breeders, but none are willing to help me.
Thanks in advance!

Hi! We have a Yatahae Coolie and he is big too. He has long legs and so very athletic! He's a neat dog and we are totally in love with him. My Coolie loves water and would swim all the time if he could. Good luck with Rossco!!!!!!
